Your adventure

Your day on the Neretva

01

Meet in Konjic for a safety briefing, gear up with wetsuits, river shoes, helmets and life jackets, then shuttle about 25 minutes upriver to Glavatičevo. The first kilometres are calm — flat emerald water with limestone walls on either side — so you find your paddle rhythm and learn the commands before the canyon tightens and the rapids start.

02

Below Glavatičevo the canyon walls close in and the river drops through a sequence of class II–III rapids, with one or two class IV sections in spring high water. You'll pass the Rakitnica confluence, swim in deep pools where the current slows, and have the chance for optional cliff jumps where conditions allow. Mid-run we stop at a riverside beach for a BBQ — fresh meat, salads, fruit and bread — with time to rest, swim or sun on the rocks.

03

After lunch the river opens up into wider, slower stretches that let you take in the canyon at a calmer pace. The take-out is near Džajići, where shuttles bring you back to base in Konjic. Total time on the water is 5 to 6 hours; exact timings shift with water levels and group pace, and your skipper walks you through the plan during the morning briefing.

Who we are

The operator

We're a Konjic-based rafting operator running IRF-certified trips through the Neretva canyon. The base is in town; the put-in is at Glavatičevo, about 25 minutes upriver. Rafts are modern self-bailers paddled by trained skippers, typically with 6 to 8 guests per boat. Helmets, life jackets and wetsuits meet international safety standards and are inspected before every trip; dry bags are available on request. Prices are quoted in BAM and EUR with no surge or hidden fees. Booking is multilingual — we reply on WhatsApp, phone or email within working hours, usually within minutes. Our season runs April through October; trips run rain or shine in safe conditions, and we reschedule or refund if the river isn't safe.

Highly recommend doing this experience if you come to visit Bosnia! The people who take care of you are some of the kindest and funniest people I have ever met! The nature is unreal, the water is CRYSTAL CLEAR enough to drink, and they even grill your lunch for you half way down the river. We went went the water was low but that didn’t stop the fun! There were moments where we could go cliff jumping into the water, swim at your leisure, and even go walking into the woods while the Skippers cooked for you. They take great care of you!!! I recommend going once you have surpassed your jet lag because it is a long experience, like 6-8 hours almost. But fun, relaxing, meditative even at some points. It is worth the drive up to get this experience I promise you. If you do go when the river is low, at a certain point through the canyons you’ll notice rock features that look like a face. I mentioned it to the skipper and he said in the whole time he has done it he has never noticed that before. There is so much so see and experience and truly feel in tune with nature during this experience. Can’t recommend it enough ❤️

FAQ

FAQ

Do I need experience?

No. We brief everyone; beginners join most public trips.

What should I bring?

Swimwear, towel, dry clothes, water bottle, sun protection. We provide river equipment.

Minimum age?

Half-day family trips from age 5+ with conditions; full-day trips may vary — ask when booking.

What if it rains?

Rafting runs in light rain; thunderstorms or high water can force changes. We communicate same-day if needed.

Can I book solo?

Yes in peak season when we can match groups; off-season may need minimum numbers.

Neretva vs Tara?

See our comparison article in the blog — we keep it honest.

How to pay?

Cash (BAM/EUR) on arrival unless online payment is enabled.

Parking?

Details at booking — we send the exact pin for the meeting point.

What fitness level do I need?

Average fitness is enough. You should be a confident swimmer (we provide PFDs and a safety briefing) and able to follow paddle commands from the skipper. The half-day option suits older guests, kids from age five, and anyone who prefers calmer water.

Can I add a transfer from Sarajevo or Mostar Airport?

Yes — share your flight details when you book and we'll quote a private transfer. Both airports are about an hour by car from Konjic.
